Become a Volunteer Driver’s Mate – Help Us Deliver Hope
At The Big Food Project, we’re on a mission to fight hunger and support our local community. However, we can’t do it alone. As a Volunteer Driver’s Mate, you’ll team up with our drivers to collect, transport, and deliver food to local food banks, and partner organisations.
This hands-on role lets you make a direct impact while working alongside a passionate, friendly team. Best of all, no experience is required—just a positive attitude and a desire to help.
Even a few hours a month can truly make a difference. You’ll meet new people, gain valuable experience, and most importantly, help combat food insecurity.
So, if you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and do something meaningful, we’d love to have you on board. Sign up today and help us deliver kindness, one box of food at a time.
Testimonial
Volunteering as a Driver’s Mate has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I never imagined how much of an impact a few hours of my time could make. Collecting surplus food from local suppliers for those in need has given me a deep sense of purpose, knowing that I'm directly contributing to alleviating hunger in my community. I love going out with my Dad who drives the van and even completed some voluntary shifts as part of my Gold Duke of Edinburgh award. If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back, I highly recommend volunteering as a Driver’s Mate. It’s an experience you won’t forget.
