Partnering with over 120 groups, we deliver emergency food and vital support to people across Blackpool, Fylde, and Wyre.
Millions of families go to bed hungry every night. Together, we can change that.
At The Big Food Project, we’ve seen how hunger deeply affects individuals and families in our communities.
Since launching in 2012, Blackpool Food Bank has grown into a vital lifeline across Blackpool, Fylde, and Wyre.
Indeed, we’ve distributed over 353 tonnes of food in the past year alone.
However, despite this continued growth, the challenges facing our community are now greater than ever.
Currently, with rising living costs and soaring energy prices, more people are facing food insecurity and uncertainty.
We’re here to help.
More importantly, we’re committed to ensuring no one in our community has to struggle alone.
Still, we can’t continue this essential work without your support.
Together, we can fight hunger and offer hope.
Let’s build a stronger future.
So please—join us: one meal, one act of kindness, one family at a time.
Make a difference
There’s no such thing as a small act of kindness—every act creates a ripple that continues to spread.
A community in need, a community that cares
In Blackpool, Fylde, and Wyre, many families face the harsh reality of hunger every single day.
Above all, we believe no one should have to choose between heating their home and feeding their family.
That’s why, by working together, we can turn compassion into meaningful action.
Together, we can make a lasting difference.
Whether through donating, volunteering, or spreading the word, every action plays a vital role in building a hunger-free community.
As a result, we ensure surplus food reaches those who need it most.
After all, children, families, and vulnerable individuals in our community deserve real support.
Therefore, let’s come together and provide it—with dignity and care.

Sarah's Story
Sarah, a single mum of two young children, did her best to make ends meet while working part-time.
However, with rising living costs and soaring energy bills, each month quickly became a struggle.
Despite careful budgeting, Sarah often skipped meals so her children could eat.
Eventually, when things became too difficult to manage alone, she turned to The Big Food Project.
Thankfully, she was met with kindness and immediate support.
She received food parcels and practical guidance. This, in turn, helped ease the pressure.
Importantly, knowing she had somewhere to turn made all the difference.
As a result, with a bit of breathing room, Sarah gradually found stability again.
Today, she works full-time and, in addition, volunteers with The Big Food Project—giving back to the community that helped her.
Ultimately, Sarah’s story shows the power of compassion.
Together, we can help families through hardship and, therefore, offer hope when it’s needed most.
